While I was Head of Li Po Chun United World College in Hong Kong (2004 to 2011), I founded and then led an action-focussed service-learning group called The Global Concerns Action Team, also known as GCAT (pronounced jee-kat).  It operated for seven years from 2004 to 2010.  GCAT was committed to supporting people in genuine need who were the victims of issues that were significant on a global scale.  During its seven years of operations, GCAT students physically and financially engaged in service-learning projects in various parts of China as well as in East Timor, North Korea, Sri Lanka and Cambodia.

This page describes three trips made to two impoverished rural counties in Guizhou province – Majiang and Cengong – where students in GCAT raised money and physically helped to build four medical clinics.
