GCAT Project to Support Medical Clinics in Guizhou - Photos from my visit in October 2009

GCAT (the Global Concerns Action Team) at Li Po Chun United World College in Hong Kong is sponsoring the construction of two medical clinics in Majiang County (麻江县), Guizhou Province, China in co-operation with Amity Foundation. This page is one of 36 galleries showing the area and its medical needs.

We were VERY surprised to find the government had already built this new medical clinic as we had raised funds to build one here.

Patient confidentiality is not a strong feature of China’s rural villages.

Did I mention that Guizhou has lots of haystacks?

Dr Dai often walks many kilometres through the farms to do his house calls.

This was the house for the next visit, but the patient had forgotten and had gone out.

The residents had erected a traditional shrine to Mao Zedong in their home.

The carved words on the front of the house mean “Chairman Mao’s Words”.
