These three days have been spent attending the International Baccalaureate (IB) Global Conference in Hall C of the HUNGEXPO Congress and Exhibition Centre, Albertirsai út 10, in suburban Budapest. I attended as an exhibitor on the Pronin IB booth to promote the Planet Geography series of textbooks I had written to support IB Diploma Geography, and the books I have written on school leadership and board governance. Pronins are the global distributors of the books I have written.
On each day of the conference, I took the M3 Metro line from Nyugati Pályaudcar Station to Astoria Station, where I changed to the M2 Metro line to Pillangó Utca Station. From there I walked two kilometres under a glorious canopy of trees to the HUNGEXPO Congress Centre, fortunately with the blessing of clear blue skies every day of the conference.
The conference was a great time of catching up with friends and colleagues, and of course meeting new people and having stimulating conversations on topics as wide-ranging as world politics, environmental challenges, travel, school leadership, board governance, and book publishing. It was one of the more enjoyable and productive conferences I have attended in recent years.
