We were greeted by more rain in Sisimiut, our first stop North of the Arctic Circle, when we arrived at 7:30am.  With a population of almost 6,000 people, Sisimiut is Greenland's second largest settlement.  We braved the cold weather (3 degree Celsius), strong winds, rain and (for a while) light snowfall to visit the city's many attractions, including its pure-bred Greenlandic sled dogs, the beautiful museum and the scenic lake. Sure enough, by early afternoon the sun came out and revealed very fresh snow on the mountains from the night before.  After warming up for a couple of hours, we returned for a longer walk in the clearer (and even sometimes sunny) conditions of the afternoon. All the photos here are from the afternoon.
