We arrived early in the morning in this beautiful fjord inland from the small town of Paamiut, but its majestic glacier (known as Nigerlikasik) was hidden under a dense fog.  Just minutes after we reached our position, the fog pulled away like a theatre curtain to reveal gorgeous snow-peaked mountains, still green-blue water, and beautifully sculpted icebergs floating before the blue-tinted glacier. We took our zodiacs to a small beach and climbed the steep hills and moss-covered rocks to the sound of waterfalls and chirping birds. We visited the Thule graves and marvelled at the land's remote beauty and early cultures.  Some of us spotted a couple of shy Arctic foxes playing in the grass.
