Our journey began in a very Icelandic manner with sideways rain, gusty winds and rather chilly temperatures.  As we sailed out of Reykjavik, its tall cathedral and deep-green mountainsides bade us farewell.  A salty breeze and several sea birds welcomed us to the Denmark Strait, followed by five beautiful orcas just a couple of hours into our crossing.  The crossing to Greenland took two days.

Today was the first day we set foot on the world's largest island!  Before we arrived in the beautiful Greenlandic town of Qagortoq, we were greeted by seals bouncing around the bow.  As we pulled in, the sight of colourful houses dotted the hillsides and steady rain with cold winds welcomed us (ah, Greenland in summer!), Fortunately, the weather cleared beautifully in the afternoon.
