Oman Travel Diary 2022 and 2023

Given the long day of travel yesterday, I was most grateful that my work schedule contained a concessionary late start this morning.  I slept fairly well from just after midnight to 8:30am.  This enabled an easy start with breakfast at about 9:30am in preparation to be picked up by the Principal for the fairly short drive from the hotel to the school.

Once at the school, it was a fairly full day of work that focussed on a meeting that I led with the full board from midday to 5:00pm.

I returned to the hotel at about 6:00pm.  Although I had been standing all afternoon, I really felt I needed a walk so I took a walk from the hotel along Al Shati Street (which follows Qurum Beach) to the Royal Opera House, which looked brilliant in its evening floodlighting.

I returned to the hotel following the same route, making the entire walk a total of 6.4 kilometres.  Although the walk was flat and I stopped a few times for photos, the (mild) exercise it provided was very welcome, especially after having to sit down for so long the previous day.

Needless to say, I felt the importance of getting to bed earlier than last night, and I managed to finish my e-mails, do my hand washing and slip into bed at about 9:30pm.
