Our final day in Greenland was spent travelling through Prince Christian Sound, the only water route between Greenland's west and east coasts. The route is often closed due to fog, strong winds, or icebergs blocking the channels, but we were lucky today – the channels were open and so calm that we managed to traverse some of the journey in small zodiacs. The scenery was spectacular despite the early change from blue skies to overcast conditions, and we even managed to see the regions's only settlement, Aappilattoq (population about 400 people). Di’s and my time in Greenland has come to an end, but what an amazing, unforgettable experience it has been.
