Northern Finland Travel Diary 2023

On our last full day in northern Finland (17th September), Di and I undertook a trip to Inari, which is a centre of Sámi culture.  Despite overcast weather, we had a wonderful day visiting the superb Museum of Sámi Culture (both the brilliant indoor displays and the reconstructed outdoor buildings and animal traps), seeing the Sámi Parliament Building (briefly), taking a short bush trek to the raids on Juutuanjoki at Jäniskoski, and finally seeing several herds of reindeer on our drive back to Utsjoki.
