In August 2018, I visited the southern part of Kyrgyzstan and the eastern and southern parts of Tajikistan.
These areas are more than off the beaten track - there are few tracks (or at least roads) in parts of these regions.
This trip was designed to conduct research for some books I am writing. The trip diaries here focus on the experience of travel rather than my research findings.
