Russian Far East - 2014

In July 2014 I undertook a trip through the Russian Far East, a wild region that is even further east than Siberia.

The trip started in Vladivostok and then proceeded to Magadan, the former gulag camp of Dneprovsky, the deserted Soviet-era town of Kadykchan, Ust-Nera, Yakutsk and then the site of one of the biggest holes in the ground - Mirny.  After a short transit in Moscow, the last major stops for the trip were in the spectacular geothermal zone of  the Kamchatka Peninsula.
