In March-April 2018, I visited the Himalayan mountain kingdom of Bhutan - one of the world’s least accessible, isolated and enigmatic countries.
Bhutan had been on my list of places to visit for many years, but I had never managed to get there, until this trip. Famous for using Gross National Happiness (GNH) as its prime measure of development, I hoped that my arrival would not lead to a decline in the country’s GNH.
Bhutan was the 142nd country I have visited.
