Houston Blog
My blog from Houston, Texas. Updated most weeks, usually on Sundays.
According to Wikipedia (a site that I always instruct my ToK students to avoid unless they are very desperate to find a starting point for their research), a viral video is “one that becomes popular through the process of internet sharing, typically through video sharing websites, social media and email” and which “often contain humorous content”.
This week, I appeared in a web video.
Sadly, it didn’t “go viral”.
I am worried that this may be because I was too restrained in my “humorous content”, although that explanation might also offer a level of credibility to Wikipedia that I would not wish to give.
This week, I was interviewed by leading investigative anchor, Rémi Messier, about my background as a geographer. The KRAMS students had obviously done some fine research, including trawling my own website, and they had discovered that my academic background was in the area of Geography, an area which had taken me to many faraway places as a traveller and which had provided the inspiration for much of my book writing.
You can view the video on the KRAMS website (look for SY 2011-2012 - Session 2, Broadcast 10), or if the video with my interview has been understandably replaced by something newer with greater potential to become viral, you can see an archived copy HERE, or by clicking the video link below.
